This year the weather threw everything at us;  snow, ice, sleet, rain, mist and fog.  There were even a few mild days.  It was an especially difficult time before the switch-on date of Friday 10th December when many people may have doubted they would be ready in time.

What a lot of money was raised last year!

The Christmas Fund Raising Total

On Tuesday 8th February 21011 a special presentation evening was held at the Bell Inn.

A grand total of £3900 was raised during the 2010/2011 season of Christmas Lights.  Cheques for £975 were presented to the County Air Ambulance Trust, Katharine House Hospice, Starz (formerly known as Haughton Pre-School Playgroup) and Horace’s Outing by fund-raisers Bert Moore and Bob Swinnerton.

Cheques for £850 each were presented to the County Air Ambulance Trust and Katharine House Hospice by Richard Bowler and Bob Perry.  This money was raised during the 8th Annual Haughton and District Old Friends Vintage Tractor Road Run.  The event took place on Tuesday 28th December 2010 when nearly 100 tractors travelled around Haughton and surrounding areas.
