North or south of the A518 are quiet country lanes for cycling or walking, bridleways
for the horse traveller and miles of footpaths across beautiful meadowland. Whatever
the season there is always something to see - primroses in spring, cow parsley, buzzards,
rabbits and squirrels. The farmland supports cows for milking and sheep. The villages
of Bradley, Church Eaton, Gnosall, Ranton and Derrington are all within walking or
cycling distance of Haughton. Dale Common (leased for grazing) and Allimore Green
Common belong to the parish and the ancient earthwork Berry Ring hillfort is also
a short walk from the village centre.
